Change your default home page

I have run an ISP's CD to set up access to the internet, and now Internet Explorer opens the ISP's home page each time it starts. Can I change this to another site or get Internet Explorer to open up blank?

You can have any home page you like. Here's how to change it: open Internet Explorer and browse to the page you want to make your home page. Then click Tools (on the menu) and select Internet options. On the General options page, in the Home page panel, click the button labelled Use Current. And that's it!

If you don't always want to start with the same page when you launch the browser, click Use Blank. Then Internet Explorer won't try to display a page at all when you start it up. It won't connect to the internet until you type an address into the Address bar and click Go, or select one of your Favorites. See also tip Set default email program and Set default web browser
